My students are the most respectful and loving children I have been privileged to work with. This is rare to find in the 21st Century student. They love every moment, from the opening of a new marker, to the excitement of mixing paint for the first time.
Life brings them challenges, but my students never give up and embrace new chances every day.
Our students are ranked among the highest poverty levels. Most are bilingual, speaking Spanish as their first language. They are incredibly intelligent to speak two languages, and many are teaching me Spanish as well.
My Project
Are you ready to make a difference?
What better way to make the world a better place than to help a child understand the world in a positive way.
I have so many students who are overloaded by sensory processing. Several are diagnosed as special needs, however some are not diagnosed but are socially and emotionally overwhelmed.
Touching something new for the first time can be alarming. But after a few tries, their minds are able to process the experience as non threatening, and they can actually start to enjoy the experience.
This project is for my students who need more experiences in processing through their senses. The products purchased will go directly to my most special needs children. My students need HELP processing sensory experiences. We need sensory balls, sand, fidgets, and play-dough.
