Studies have shown that art is an integral part of any child's development and learning. I take my profession seriously and run an art classroom that is immersive in many different areas of art. This takes a lot of planning and work, but the students excitement and learning makes every day worth it. I run the following programs in my classroom: 1. Design based thinking strategies - compliments of David Kelly, IDEO co, Stanford's design school, and Google Design 2. 3D-STEAM projects where designing is an integral component of the exploration 3. Special Needs Sensory Immersion - We just started this initiative to meet the needs of the 30+ special needs students I meet with each week.
