Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I provide speech therapy in a special education public school in NYC. I work with children with autism in a low-income elementary school in the Bronx. My students are eager to learn and have some fun. My students will benefit from the use of sensory items and games to help them improve their pragmatic skills and sensory needs.

This will help them be calmer, more alert, happier, and ready to learn, communicate and play.

The implementation of fidgets and sensory tools can greatly improve my students' performance during speech therapy. Having sensory tools for these children gives them a chance to feel better and do better!

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
