Sensory Breaks to Keep Us Ready to Learn

My Students

My students with autism and intellectual disabilities are excited to learn each and every day. Our classroom is located in a large Intermediate School, but we strive to meet each students individual needs in a personal and meaningful way. Many of my students participate in the free and reduced-price lunch program.

My students with autism and intellectual disabilities face many challenges but work hard to learn and grow each day.

Providing my students with as many engaging opportunities to learn is of the utmost importance to me, so they can meet their goals and take pride in their learning.

My Project

My students with autism and intellectual disabilities have many needs that require attention through out the day and one of those areas is sensory integration. Many of my students struggle to process their sensory input and having a well stocked space for them to explore and decompress in is essential.

My students are eager to learn but often needs special spaces and materials to make them successful.

Having accesses to a trampoline, swing, and large crash pad will create a space that is perfect for my students to not only explore while learning but to help them take needed breaks to cope with all the input they get through out the day.
