This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach K-8 special education at a Title I school. My students thrive to do their best with whatever challenges or situations that they face. My students love to learn and create and need an environment that will help them do so. To make sure each student's individual needs are met, I use a variety of learning strategies and tools. I love my students and can't wait to share another incredible year with them.

My students are creative, curious, and eager to learn.

When attempting to overcoming an obstacle in their way, my students never back down from a challenge.

My Project

My students work on social/ emotional learning on a daily basis. These items will help students understand how to self-regulate and express their emotions in a healthy way. I choose books as well as activities that will help my students grasp these concepts. The social-emotional activities will be incorporated into my social skills lessons.

These materials will greatly help the students in my classroom on a daily basis.

I have also added sensory activities for my students who need daily sensory input that they wouldn't otherwise get. My students love hands-on learning, anyway that I can incorporate sensory activities into my lessons, I do. I have also added toys that students can use in the classroom setting when a calm down break is needed.
