My Project

The items that have been put together will help my students self-regulate more independently by being able to access multiple tools. Other items will help encourage students to walk more independently, learn numbers, work on fine motor skills, and expand their language through verbal, imitation, and sign language.

The goal of this project is to motivate and help my students be more aware of their emotions by not only being able to identify their own emotions and actions, apply strategies to regulate them, but also be able to recognize emotions, actions, feelings, and words from others.

By using pictures the students will be able to understand and better identify emotions and expand their vocabulary. Some of the tools will also help improve their fine motor skills and help with self-regulation.

In my classroom a majority of my students use an alternative way to communicate; either through sign, picture exchange, or ATC devices. Being able to provide the students with a variety of pictures and modalities helps the students to not only become better communicators but better at being aware of how others feel and what they are saying. My students love learning and get excited when new information is taught to them in order to help them be a better communicator, listener, learner, and friend.
