Social-emotional learning (SEL), routine, and sensory needs are arguably three of the most important aspects of a special needs classroom. These items will help provide sensory time, routine, and SEL to our circle time.
These items are a necessity in our classroom and in our circle time.
The cushions allow our more wiggly students to participate in a circle while still being able to move, and the rug allows them to find seating more easily. Markers help the students draw to focus, and the social-emotional materials allow us to incorporate those skills into our circle time.
