My Students

I have 20 fun and energetic students who love to be in school. They love to explore and are really beginning to understand print concepts. We are a high-needs school with a diverse group of fantastic students. Some are homeless and come to us with nothing. These students come from all different backgrounds and skill levels. These skills and backgrounds really help to create a unique and fun classroom.

Many of my students have unique needs and I believe they should have the opportunity to learn in the way they need to.

They come to me hungry and many have never been in a classroom setting. They need engaging and fun materials, along with tools to help them concentrate on learning.

My Project

My students are full of life and fun. Many of them do not have the skills to hold a pencil the correct way. Many times it is a sensory issue, where they have an adverse reaction to touch. The Hot Dots will help not only those students who need more fine motor skills, but also those who struggle with letters, sounds and numbers. I know that the gears will help us find new ways to build and explore in a safe friendly environment.

The visual cards for calming will help not only those who have experienced trauma, but those who cannot put into words their struggles.

Not everyone shows their feelings, and I believe that these tools will help me reach more students who struggle with behaviors and self-worth. I have students who come from all walks of life, who might need a little help every now and then explaining what they are feeling or how they are frustrated. I know these tools will help so many of my struggling students.
