Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Our classroom has 4 students who have petitioned the administration for this class to be offered. Students at the end of the year would like to be at the top of their class and prepared for college level math. Their biggest challenge is overcoming societal norms that undervalue math education.

My students are underprivileged youth who are dedicated to overcoming the daily struggles they face academically and socially.

Our school is fairly small, with limited resources and funding. Our administration is unable to provide our class with the materials necessary to be successful in pre-calculus.

My Project

Our students will use these graphing calculators on a daily basis to master pre-calculus material. Access to graphing calculators will allow our students an equal opportunity to learn all of our objectives and reach their goals. Having their own calculators will give them the ability to practice problems at home as well as at school.

This project will make a difference in the classroom by inspiring students to overcome obstacles in their way.

They have the potential but need the resources in order to succeed in their personal and academic goals.
