Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students come from low socioeconomic households where many of them are the first to graduate high school and attend college or trade school. They are both excited and hesitant about the idea of committing to a college or institution of higher learning for potentially the next four years.
I want to set our graduating STEAM seniors of the class of 2023 up for success in the college classroom by giving them supplies they will need to be successful.
These students will appreciate these supplies as they were freshmen during the initial pandemic closure. They have a drive for school and have persevered through a lot during their high school careers. Scholarships don't cover these necessities and the cost adds up quickly. I want my students to be confident starting their college careers.
