My students need a field trip to the Challenger Space Mission Museum.
This project expired on March 11, 2018.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
My students are in a 12:1:1 classroom. They have been together for five years and are excited for a new year and new start! My students are all learning disabled, but are full of energy and excitement. They are well-behaved and love science and math. Our school is a Title I school with every student receiving free lunch.
Learning disabilities do not keep my students from achieving their goals.
They work extra hard to keep up and they enjoy learning new topics.
My special education students want to learn all about space and astronauts! Please help send us to a day at space camp. At the NYC Center of Aerospace, my students will learn to work as astronauts onboard our spacecraft and Flight Controllers in Mission Control as they conduct scientific experiments, maintain safe living conditions and search the starfields in the solar system to locate and study a comet. We will then discover how objects behave in zero-G. After experiencing how toys work on Earth, students predict how they will behave in space and then observe astronauts using the same toys.
My special education kids are fascinated by space and would love nothing more than to spend the day as an astronaut.
