Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Most (90%) of our wonderful students live below or near the poverty line. About 60% of our students are learning English in school. Sometimes, our school struggles to get the resources we need to teach and care for our incredible students. This makes the job of a school even more important.
Many students we teach experience poverty, but that's just where they are starting.
Our students love to create art and read. They write computer code and even perform Shakespeare. They have big dreams, but they need to work hard now. Help them reach for those dreams!
My Project
My students spend a lot of time reading each day and just like adults, kids want to be comfortable when they read. It's hard to keep your focus when you are sitting at a hard uncomfortable desk. Let's change that!
Help me create a comfy library space where kids can cozy up to a good book and fall in love with reading!
