As a counselor, I find the power of fidgets to be very beneficial for students with low executive functioning skills and those with anxiety. When students have the ability to self-soothe and regulate while keeping their hands busy, it gives them access to focus on the tasks most important to them.
When a student has a quiet fidget to keep their hands busy, they are more likely to concentrate on tasks, follow along with directions, and regulate big emotions.
