My Project

Art allows us to express our big feelings and ideas in safe ways. Since coming back to school in person from COVID-19, students have struggled with . . . EVERYTHING. Gifting my students a variety of art supplies, including mirrors, will encourage them to explore and express their big feelings in safe and positive ways. We will be able to use these mirrors to create self portraits, closely examining how we look on the outside; while we discuss what feelings, emotions, and interests we have on the inside. Weaving mats, beads, and architecture books will support a mindset of "If we can see it, we can be it." My student artists will see people of diverse backgrounds expressing themselves and achieving; and be reminded they can do anything! Visual timers will support students in planning and time management.
