This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Thank you for considering supporting my self-portrait project. This fall/winter, students from my classroom will be learning the elements of art and practice receiving feedback as they draw themselves in multiple mediums.
For one of these mediums, students will be using markers.
It is important to me that when students draw themselves, they have a range of skin colored markers to choose from. In this way, students can see themselves reflected in the markers and have a variety of hues to choose from. I will use the black markers to help students trace their portraits.
For another medium, students will be using drawing pencils and use blending stumps to shade and add value to their portraits.
I have seen art bring my students a lot of joy, and I love to see them grow in their knowledge of art, their confidence, and their creativity. Thank you for partnering with me in this project!
