Self-Exploration through Dramatic Play and Games

Help me give my students props for dramatic play and cooperative games to allow them to explore themselves, their emotions, and their surroundings.

My Project

Imaginative play props such as baby dolls and accessories and cooperative play and games have a big impact on a child's cognitive and social/emotional development. Our current set of baby dolls is too moldy beyond rescue. With this new set of multi-ethnicity baby dolls and accessories, I can help foster imagination and creativity that helps build flexibility in their thinking and interaction with peers. The games such as the jumbo Connect Four, giant Candy Land, jumbo Snakes and Ladders, and Picasso Tile Marble Run will not only aid in teaching social skills/play skills, but also critical thinking and cooperation.

My students are noticeably more engaged in social interaction and less disruptive during the social hour when they are given a choice to play with a cooperative game or dramatic play.

I have seen how choice can positively affect my students' work and demeanor and hope that the additional options will help us grow even more!
