My Project

As a school librarian, I have over 600 fantastic students who come in to get books. They usually use scraps of paper or random objects as bookmarks. That's serviceable, but no fun!

Many of my students are very artistic and love hands-on art projects.

They would be very excited to design and customize their own bookmarks that they could keep. The bookmark selections requested include ones that have colorable designs, ones were designs can be added, and ones that start out as solid black until you etch a rainbow design into it. There is something to interest everyone!

Bookmarks may be a small thing, but to some students, they make a big difference. This will give them the opportunity to express themselves creatively and to have something to show for their effort. I know they would enjoy creating their own customized bookmarks very much!
