Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

National Board Certification will distinguish me as an accomplished, effective teacher who has met the highest standards in my profession and demonstrate that I have the knowledge and skills necessary to advance student learning and achievement. My students deserve the best - help me get there!

I'm in my 15 year of teaching and want to make a lasting change in my current and future student's education.

My students come from a high poverty area - over 65% qualify for reduced/free lunch. Too often, states and schools provide poor students fewer educational program choices (i.e. Advanced Placement, gifted and talented programs, and advanced math and science classes). Studies have linked participation in these programs with better outcomes later in life - my students deserve a premium teacher! As a National Board Certified teacher I can ensure my students will continue receiving a top-notch education while mentoring my peers to bring forth their best practices. National Board Certification will not only test my perseverance but also challenge me to raise my standards of excellence. This certification is a way to prove that I am an elite educator who cares about my student's and peer's success.

My Project

Furthermore this will allow me to delve in deeper into my student's performance and have a better understanding of where I need to grow as a educator. This rigorous process will be very reflective on the educator I've grown into and the educator my students deserve to meet each year. I know it will be tough but my students deserve it! National Board Certification will bring value not only to my students and me, but to my school as well. Schools with National Board Certified Teachers have strong professional communities, focused on leadership, learning, and collaboration. Research shows that these schools are characterized by higher rates of teacher morale and retention and increased community involvement. It is a win-win situation all around.

Please help me embark on a journey that will help me prove I am a top-notch educator.

I know that the certification process is rigorous but I am very driven. Thank you in advance for supporting me in such a milestone.
