Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I teach a great group of students World History and Advanced Placement World History. Our school is a public charter school in Prince Georges County, Maryland. Every day, I am excited to see my students learn and grow.

My students are passionate about learning World History and how what has happened in the past impacts us all in the present.

They are attentive and engaged with the specific content and always try to connect past historical trends and circumstances with the present.

My Project

These posters and flags will help to bring our classroom and study of world history to life. The large world maps (one current and a historical one from the 1700s) will help to orient students to the geography of the various regions that we cover throughout the course. The small flags of all of the world's countries will be hung around the classroom and will serve as a visual representation of the vast diversity of places and experiences all over our world. Thank you for helping me to engage students in the crucial study of world history and culture and in helping to prepare them to be model world citizens!
