This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a first grade teacher at a Title I school, in a low-income, high poverty school district, where 99% of our students receive free or reduced price lunch. My students are faced with many challenges both in and out of the classroom.

The use of technology is an essential part in our school's mission.

My first grade students are eager to engage in interactive learning activities and lessons that are available through the use of technology in our world today.

My Project

Being a First grade teacher in a low income school, I'm always looking for help getting the best possible technology resources to improve my instruction while keeping my students engaged in their learning! With all that we have to teach our kids, we just don't have time to waste! If I wish to project something on the board for the class to see, I have to hook equipment up with extension cords and multiple pieces of equipment. This takes a lot of time and sometimes is not efficient. I want to quickly and easily set up my resources to get students learning faster!

We are requesting need an Android Tablet to allow them access to a variety of visuals.

I would like to be able to show videos and examples to my students while working on any of the subject areas (Math, Science, Reading, Art, etc.). Having the Android Laptop will allow students to have optimal visibility with the built in projector. I'll be able to display illustrations and videos quick and easy for my students without wasting so much time having to hook everything up.
