My Students

I work in a community school that is low performing. Ninety-five percent of the students at the school qualify for free or reduced lunch. The majority of our students come from single parent homes and have experienced difficult living conditions, whether it's a dysfunctional family or dysfunctional neighborhoods.

Our students have committed to overcome the obstacles that life has given them.

They are the most resourceful young people that you can ever meet. Their desire to achieve is second to none. These young people have made improvements in every aspect of their life; academically, socially, their personality and their self-confidence is growing by leaps and bounds.

My Project

We are starting a video production assistant career pathway. Teaching our students how to use multimedia in a creative and productive way. they will learn how to use video equipment, compose a setting use lighting and camera angles to convey their story.

Students will write, develop, film, and edit video.

Engaging them to learn how to collaborate as well as produce creative ideas on their own, as they create a school newscast, Bobcat News 51. This Ultra HD Video Camera will give them a professional experience without a professional cost.
