My Students

My students are made up of 45 primarily VPK-2nd graders with a few older ones sprinkled in between. Each student is striving to fix their speech/language needs, and trying their best to learn to communicate and find their voice in this big world.

"In a world where everyone is telling them what they can't do, show your students what they can do." Most of my students are considered ESE, but that doesn't stop their motivation to learn, and succeed in life!

My students are my whole heart, they are the happiest group of kids, and come in with a smile no matter what, they know nothing but love, and they are so determined to be the best they can be!

My Project

A carpet in my classroom will give me the ability to be on the same level as my kids. It makes the room a comfy, safe environment where my students can grow and learn. Currently, in my classroom, I have a huge table and big chairs, both insanely bigger than my little students. Having to lift them all into seats everyday wastes the short time I have with them.

Having a carpet will allow my students to explore, spread out, and grow​ while being more engaged in the speech/language activity I will be doing with them that day.

It will promote communication, as well as group play in therapy!

I have personally seen how giving the students a choice of where they sit and learn changes their whole demeanor and makes learning time positive!
