A carpet in my classroom will give me the ability to be on the same level as my kids. It makes the room a comfy, safe environment where my students can grow and learn. Currently, in my classroom, I have a huge table and big chairs, both insanely bigger than my little students. Having to lift them all into seats everyday wastes the short time I have with them. Having a carpet will allow my students to explore, spread out, and grow​ while being more engaged in the speech/language activity I will be doing with them that day. It will promote communication, as well as group play in therapy! I have personally seen how giving the students a choice of where they sit and learn changes their whole demeanor and makes learning time positive!
