We our a rural, school who wants to be "big city" in our Audio/Video Production. We have the camera, we have a make-shift news studio; however, the sound is HORRIBLE! We can't hear our darlings on their broadcast!
My students, ranging from 10-12th graders, are a first-year production team producing a bi-monthly news program for our school district's website and surrounding community.
After a few broadcasts, my students will train junior reporters from the elementary and middle school to work side-by-side with them as reporters, sound editors, and producers.
We live in small-town Texas, and several of our high school students are aspiring actors and communications majors.
My Project
We'd LOVE two lavalier-style microphones (the type that clip to a shirt) that will record sound simultaneously with our video footage. Our camcorder picks up ALL surrounding noise, and it just isn't the way the professionals do it.
We also want a portable green screen to control our backdrops and be able to transform our students to oceans, outdoors, the city, and other cool places with virtual technology.
My school district does a wonderful job of providing the educational needs, but since we are a high-poverty, tax-poor district, we have a tight budget that just doesn't have room for items that my students need.
We often fund raise, but that takes away time from our educational setting! You, our amazing donors, make the difference!
