Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Imagine being in your favorite science class and not being able to do hands on experiments and activities. This is what my 6th grade class is facing. Our classroom desperately needs a digital microscope so that students will be able to see microorganisms and demonstrate that they are able to use a microscope. as well as tablets and a charging cart so that they are able to put together collaborative presentations to share data and findings.

My students are eager to learn students in the Bronx.

Many of my students come from schools that were unable to support their educational and behavioral needs. Through their love of learning, are on their way excelling academically. This year, I have the privilege of teaching 6th grade students who have already shown potential in mastering science concepts. They always want to learn more and know more. Please help them to explore the microscopic world around them.

My Project

My 6th grade students will be able to use technology to exceed the NGSS standards and collaborate on science teams to learn and apply the skills that are needed to be successful. They will be able to grow bacteria and observe growth patterns, identify the bacteria and collaborate with each other to develop presentation skills to demonstrate mastery.

These materials will allow our 6th grade students to master science concepts and engage in real hands on science learning..

The goal is to provide them with the necessary skills and content to be able to develop an interest in STEAM fields.
