My Students

I teach 30 English Language Learners. Students come to me from many backgrounds and many experiences. Some come from homes where multiple languages other than English are spoken and some come to me where the home language is primarily SPN. All of these children bring such unique experiences to their classrooms whether they were born here in the US or whether they just arrived from another country. Watching them grasp concepts and the language alongside their peers is exciting and fulfilling work!

My Project

See It, Say It is a project for students who are non-native English speakers. These students will utilize headsets with technology that is already provided to record themselves practicing skills in English. The headset, noise cancelling technology will allow for recording and listening without distraction or disruption from a busy school environment.

Students will be able to role play, edit movies, respond to prompts, take tests, complete projects, and much more by using headsets that are compatible with laptops as well as iPads to practice and become fluent in their non-native language.

By using this technology students can practice recording and listening to themselves first before sharing in a whole group or with the teacher thus building confidence and making learning concrete.
