It's not difficult to get my students excited about learning. Many have a tough life, but when they walk into my classroom they let down their barrier and start to have fun. I believe in them as much as they do, and sometimes more!
We are here to learn and grow together.
My students know I care about them as a person first, and they come back year after year to visit me. I am so proud of how hard they work and their level of determination.
Getting rocks into the hands of students is harder than it sounds! These kits are expensive and a big investment for the school. Having rock samples that are similar size and a variety of types is important so students can learn about how each type of rock is different.
These rock boxes make our lesson so much more meaningful!
While we learn about sedimentary rocks, students will be able to interact with one another and work together to identify the rock samples. They aren't all just "rocks". It brings the real world into the classroom, and extends learning to everyday life.
