Getting rocks into the hands of students is harder than it sounds! These kits are expensive and a big investment for the school. Having rock samples that are similar size and a variety of types is important so students can learn about how each type of rock is different. These rock boxes make our lesson so much more meaningful! While we learn about sedimentary rocks, students will be able to interact with one another and work together to identify the rock samples. They aren't all just "rocks". It brings the real world into the classroom, and extends learning to everyday life.
