My second graders attend a diverse inner-city school in California where over half of the student population qualifies for free or reduced-price lunch.
My students are a sweet, diverse, hard-working, energetic, self-motivated group of learners.
Each one of my students is very special and brings their own unique strengths and needs to our classroom community. They especially enjoy reading books of all kinds, listening to read alouds, playing math games, doing science investigations, and showing their creativity through their artwork.
My students LOVE math! In the classroom, my students get to use all kinds of different manipulatives to help them understand the skills we are working on. Currently, we are working on numbers up to 1,000, and they are using base ten blocks to explore these numbers. We need a storage unit to organize our math materials so the students have easy access to them every day. This storage unit has 12 cubbies with space for 12 clear bins! I can organize the materials beforehand and, during our math block, partners can just take a bin from the storage unit and start their work. No more paper lunch trays filled with math manipulatives stacked up on the floor that get knocked over easily! This storage unit will really maximize learning time. Please consider donating today.
