This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Help me send off our Spectacular Second Graders to have a Super Summer! School is almost out for summer, which means my second graders are getting ready for third grade. My students have made so much growth this year, and I want to make sure they don't lose that growth over the summer.

Working together with second and third grade teachers, we determined the most important skills students needed to continue to grow and succeed.

It is those skills that I centered my summer care package around, with a fun surprise, too! Students need to be able to quickly add and subtract, and be fluent with multiplication facts, so I included flashcards and games. Students should read at least 15 minutes a day, so I included flashcards and books that they might be interested in.

I want nothing more than to see my shining second graders be terrific third graders, so help me give them a fun way to do that over the summer!
