My Students

I teach in a preschool room in a low-income school district. My students are faced with challenges inside and outside of the classroom. Despite the many challenges that my students are facing, I strive to provide them with a fun, interactive, safe, and meaningful learning environment. As their teacher, I try to instill the importance of communicating/listening to one another, being a good citizen and leader, and using trauma-informed techniques to aid them in their social-emotional development.

My students have various learning styles' backgrounds and needs.

Due to being located in an inner-city, funding is extremely hard to come by, and in order to provide my students with the best learning experiences I can give them, I typically find ways to procure these items and experiences out of pocket or by any means I can, which is where DonorsChoose.org comes in.

My Project

Preschoolers come in all shapes, sizes, and needs! To meet these needs, we adjust our tables in the classroom to various heights and try to offer students optimal ways to do their work. We've also found that some students need specific types of seating to be successful when doing their work, however, some of our chairs had to be loaned out to other classrooms in order to accommodate other students who needed the specialized accommodation more.

This project is for various sizes of chairs for our classroom that will allow students to have a variety of sizes to meet their needs while learning and completing classwork.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
