Seating So Students Are Prepared to Change the World!
My students need differentiated seating accommodation to allow them to be successful! I have none for my students. These seats will allow them to wobble in their seats while working.
To me, my students are my world! I am a first year teacher, going on second, working at a Title I school. Our entire school receives free breakfast and lunch. My students come into class everyday with smiles on their faces excited and eager to learn. Whatever their home situation, or what they have gone through the night before, it doesn’t stop their imagination and dreams. My students greet each other every daily and our classroom is our happy and safe place.
Each morning we spend our first half an hour working on our social and emotional skills.
We talk about our morning and how we feel. We have made huge gains in this area and are continuing to better ourselves each and every day. In our classroom we are truly one big family as we push each other and hold each other accountable. My students have a burning desire to learn that is evident. I am so thankful that I was chosen to be their special education teacher.
My Project
I teach special education and these wobble chairs will make a huge difference in some of my students ability to work in class. Right now I have only traditional chairs for my students to sit in. Since recess time has been shortened, over the years, students have noticeably struggled with staying focused in their chairs while they work.
These wobble chairs will give my students the flexibility that they need to be successful.
They will be able to wobble and bounce on them while they are using them rather than focusing on all the energy they have. Since these chairs are so light and easy to move, they really give students the independence that they need to make a positive seating choice during work time.
