Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach fifth grade to 20 wonderful students. They are curious, funny, and eager to learn. My students are hardworking and resilient. There is a rarely a day I am not learning from them too.

I would like to create an environment that allows my students to really engage deeply in their academic learning and utilize discussion with one another as a resource for learning.

Flexible seating allows greater student autonomy over the learning environment. It allows students to choose what type of seating will work best to support their learning needs on a day-to-day basis.

Flexible seating will create a more open classroom that encourages student thinking and peer-to-peer discussion. Flexible seating would allow my students to really utilize their strengths and take their learning into their own hands.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
