Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We are an AVID school which is a College Readiness System with a mission to provide a comprehensive model of success for all students. Our students are preparing for college through college-readiness skills such as detailed note taking, communication skills, organizational skills, and other skills they would need to be successful. We are also a personalized learning school which is showcased in our classroom daily. Each of our students learn at a different level; each preferring to learn in a variety of ways. We may have students that prefer to work together in collaboration, students that prefer to work independently and students that are more technologically savvy than others. These students know what it takes to be successful, each bringing that attitude and motivation to class daily. I would love to make our class a more attractive and comfortable setting for such a deserving young group of kids!

My Project

Having the ability to seat my students based on their learning needs and preferences would contribute immensely to their success. The Wobble Chairs will be the highlight of my ‘Teacher Station’ as the students are pulled based on weekly and daily data. The soft padded seating would go wonderfully at the lowered collaboration table. This is where students are able to effectively work together for better understanding or even a different perspective. Overall, the flexible seating provides a refreshing new look with a tremendous contribution to student success. The best thing about this project is that the flexible seating will be used by many future students for years to come!
