My students need the 4 wobble chairs and 2 flex space balance balls to work at my table and the 12 floor seats are for carpet time, which is about half of our day.

My Students
Our amazing school has a diverse group of students from various socioeconomic backgrounds and many different ethnic groups. Even though my children and families face many difficulties, it is my goal to help my children grow from where they are when they enter my classroom and rise to their full potential.
I foster learning by creating a loving, safe environment filled with positive choices.
I teach the love of learning coupled with high expectations. Creating an environment that gives my students many opportunities daily to make positive choices that help them feel like they have control of their learning gives me great joy.
My Project
Last year I began using flexible seating in my classroom towards the end of the year, and I loved the positive difference that seating choice created in my classroom. Beginning the school year with flexible seating created a great deal of excitement. Since the number of students varies from year to year, I used all the seats I had for the children, but I do not have any chairs for my teacher table. My teacher table is where I work with children in small groups. The wobble chairs and the balance balls are excellent for helping children focus since they allow children to wiggle a little.
The variety of chairs at my table and the power of choice will help my students focus as well as will increase their attention spans.
The floor seats that I have for the children are working so well during carpet time. I have 9 seats, and the children share the seats throughout the day, which is great for teaching sharing. The children who have the cushioned floor seats seem more comfortable as well as more focused. I feel that having a class set of these will be great to have for all the children.
