Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

Our substantially separate classroom is comprised of hardworking, little heroes in training.
These students, age 5-8, strive to work toward both personal and academic goals. Each student has a range of abilities and needs that we push to meet. Some of our students are learning to count and recognize letters while others are focused on furthering their knowledge in reading and writing as well as addition/subtraction.
We are part of a larger school community that has constructed an environment that values the needs of an incredibly diverse population of students and their families. The purpose of our classroom is to give students with disabilities, who struggle in inclusion classrooms, the opportunity to grow both academically and as individuals in the least restrictive environment.
My Project
Our substantially separate classroom is comprised of students with a range of diagnoses. Learning concepts can be much more challenging for each of these little friends than their typically developing peers.
Providing my little heroes with seating options will allow them to choose a place where they can learn best.
Some of the students in our classroom need to move their bodies so utilizing a wobble cushion, stretch band on the bottom of the chair or a standing table will help to meet their needs. Other friends need a calm and comfortable seating options such as a bean bag chair or pillows/cushions to do their best.
