My students are energetic and excited little five and six-year-olds. These little people are just beginning their educational journey. They are curious and enthusiastic learners. It is my goal to provide them with every opportunity, so they can find joy and success at school.
We live in a small, rural community that has high poverty.
The main source of income for our community is a paper mill that is always on the verge of closing. Life in our community is unpredictable. The opportunities that are offered to my students are few.
Our school district tries so very hard to provide the students with every advantage that it can, but I know there is more for them out there. They want to learn and explore, and I want them to love school and get excited for the next twelve years of it!
My Project
Keeping five and six-year-olds apart during these tricky times sure has been a challenge. They need a work spot, an eating spot and they all have to be far enough away from their classmates to follow guidelines.
I am hoping that by having alternative seating options that are unique, I can make the task of staying apart a little easier for them.
By providing four additional seats around my room I can ensure a comfy place to sit and space that will help my students stay safe.
We also have so many things now because there is no sharing. We really need space to store all of our individual supplies. This cart will give us a work space and a storage space all at the same time!
