My Project

We believe that if you have a language, you can learn another language, so my students have the opportunity to learn Spanish for a semester each year grades six through eight. I am attempting to lower anxiety and allow students the opportunity to more freely interact with each other while utilizing the language naturally. This also allows me the opportunity to interact with each student more personally.

Because of this we have opted for a deskless classroom.

This opens up our space for gallery walks, conversations, space to spread out while working, and just space to be ourselves. Since we have no desks, when we take notes or practice our writing, students often use clipboards as their hard writing surfaces. Having the ability to keep all materials at their seats by using a sturdy chair pocket to hold everything would be very helpful to minimize transitions and maximize learning.
