This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My classroom is a place where my students feel welcome, comfortable, and ready to learn and explore new things. In our class we run on friendship, community, and support! We work best as a team!

My school is a community of diverse learners which makes it a unique and rewarding place to work.

Being that we are a huge school with limited resources, we often need more than we can afford. My class is made up of 27 intelligent and energetic second graders, with the possibility of more being added. We are a general education class with English Language Learners. My students are hardworking and extremely motivated to meet their goals and help their friends meet theirs as well.

My Project

My students are in need of seat sacks to keep their notebooks and supplies organized. In my classroom my students do not have desks, they have tables. Although the tables are great for group work and they encourage a sense of community, they do not allow for easy access to supplies. I have to put most of my students folders and notebooks in bins which requires them to have to get up every time they need something. With seat sacks on the backs of their chairs my students will have immediate access to their supplies needed for the lesson at hand. Having seat sacks will encourage responsibility and organizational skills while maximizing instructional time.

If funded, my students will each have their own seat sack to place their notebooks and folders needed for the school day.

Having all their supplies readily available at their seats will help our day flow much smoother. It will minimize the amount of time spent getting their folders and notebooks which will allow more time for necessary instruction. These seat sacks will save space and make for an organized work space so my students can succeed! Please help us reach our goal. Thank you so much!!
