This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Do you remember, what it was like in college writing down information for your research paper, or having to make copies at the public library? Well that is exactly what my students have to do, they have to write down the information they get from the Internet because we do not have a printer.
I have twenty bright, eager, students who are English learners.
They attend a school in the "unsafe " side of town; for them, shootings and school lock downs are a normal thing. For these students, school is a safe heaven and regardless of their low social economic level, they are eager to learn and always give their best effort. They know that education can be the key to a better future.
My Project
In my classroom, we do not have a printer. When I have my students look up information on the Internet, all they can do is look since we do not have a printer. The printer will enable me to print out information from the Internet for them to read and highlight. Not only that, we can also use it for other projects, such as scanning their art and writing about it and printing books for them to practice their fluency.
I am also requesting 2 black ink cartridges and 1 combo ink cartridge for the printer.
The printer and ink cartridges will help me to help my students.
I will be able to print out materials for them. I will also be able to print certificates and to recognize and celebrate their accomplishments.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
