My 4K students are so expressive and creative. They are loving our art center and are using our supplies in the most creative ways. We are running low on supplies and need to restock our shelves with basic art supplies such as crayons, markers, paint, glue, stamps and paper.
Creating an idea is an important process in childhood development and we want the students to have every opportunity to express themselves through their own creative imaginations.
These art items will help them continue being artists during our center time by supplying them with the needed items to fuel the creative process. As Jean Van't Hul stated, "Children are naturally creative. It is our job to give them the freedom, materials and space to let their creativity blossom to its fullest potential." We want these students to have a place to create their ideas and trust themselves while exploring the potential to broaden their imaginations.
Our students come from a low income area and attend a state funded preschool where the most at-risk students are accepted into the program. Having the supplies they need is important in their fine motor development skills and cognitive thinking process, as well as a social-emotional outlet.
