My Project
When school returns to normal, my students will most likely be tired of their screens. My goal is for my students to utilize these resources to learn math kinesthetically. I will use the tablecloths for book tastings, where my students will be able to fall in love with new books. Math manipulatives will be used for building and exploring math concepts in a concrete way. For example, my students can use the new base ten blocks to prove that a digit is worth 10x more everytime it moves left on the place value line. They will be able to build 20 and 200 in order to compare how the value of the 2 changes from each number. I will use all of these materials to provide a fun and explorative classroom, quite different from the virtual classrooms they are learning in now.
