My Students
As a teacher in a Title I building where 90 percent of our students walk to and from school everyday, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Many students come from or have experienced poverty, homelessness, and trauma.
Despite the many challenges they face, I am committed to providing a variety of meaningful learning experiences for ALL students in grades K-6.
We are a large school and have several sections of double classes in the gym for PE. My students deserve the opportunity to safely learn skills and activities to increase their physical, mental/emotional and social health.
My Project
We don't often get to go outside for PE due to recess taking up all the outdoor space at our school. The foam flying discs will allow my students the ability to learn how to throw a Frisbee and participate in throwing games.
This equipment is an important piece to teaching my students the skills and knowledge they need to live active, healthy lives.
The scooters will allow my students to work on their muscular strength and endurance while participating in various relays and activities. These scooters will not scratch our gym floor, which is getting refinished this later year.
