Help me give my students the feeling of being a real scientist! When my students can wear their scientist lab coats they will become the future scientists of the world!
I was lucky enough to have received the opportunity to teach grades K-6, as well as dual language and life skills classes for this school year. This new position to our district has allowed me to teach over 700 students a variety of scientific concepts as well as conduct experiments! I consider myself lucky to have such a great opportunity because my teaching will also be helping students in intermediate grades prepare for standardized tests that contain science questions.
Science has always been a passion of mine because it is a subject that can grab the interest of students of ALL learning styles and abilities.
With science, students have the opportunity to engage, explain, extend and evaluate, and experiment with concepts that they may not have the chance to with other subject areas.
Learning and science and “being a scientist” not only teaches children scientific concepts, it also helps them to grow socially and think critically as well!
My Project
It is my hope that all of my future scientists are excited to learn about science and start their journey of becoming scientists and engineers with me! In order to meet the needs of all my students grades kindergarten through sixth grade, as well as life skills, autistic and English language learners our STEAM lab is in need lab coats that fit them, to truly feel like scientists.
With these lab coats we will be STEAMing into a great future of learning!
