Scientists Are Readers, Too!

Help me give my students exciting STEM-related graphic novels and biographies to reinforce their reading skills!

My Students

My students are caring, bright, and multi-talented. Many of them remember Hurricane Harvey, which affected our area of Houston badly, but our school community is strong and diverse, and that spirit has stayed with them. They have been so amazing to teach, even in the uncertainty of our lives today.

I love that my students have a deep desire for knowledge, and I want to help them create learning experiences that they can take and apply to the rest of their lives.

My Project

We all know that reading is fundamental, and access to engaging literature can be the difference between a student who becomes a well-rounded scholar and one who simply goes through the motions.

Many of my students love to read; however, I don't have as many science-related books as I would like to have in my classroom.

I also teach students who are shyer about reading, but who are incredibly creative and love math and science!

I want to address both types of students with science biographies and STEM-related graphic novels. These books will reinforce topics that we cover in class, as well as spark their imagination for years to come!
