My Students
"You are smart." the teacher said, and the response from the student, "You think I am, so I am." We made this our motto for the school year and they were. Each day that students walk into my room they are met with a good morning and a smile. I am greeted with a good morning, smile, and a hug. We've set the tone for our day.
I teach in a 90% free and reduced lunch school with a 60% African American, 38 % Caucasian, 2% Other, ethnicity.
They are looking to me for that extra smile, those special words of encouragement and knowing that they will have everything they need to be successful.
My Project
In a world of wonder, good scientists and inventors need protective eyewear, lab coats, and an organized area to keep their materials. My scientists will be working with experiments causing chemical and physical changes and wearing special safety glasses and lab coats will make them feel like they are in their own labs working with their teams.
Organization is key to making sure supplies are used carefully and consistently.
Rolling carts will allow each team of scientists to use their own set of supplies and keep an account of them. When it is time to replace the supplies it will be easy and hassle free.
