My Students

We our out of balance! The balance scales we currently have in my classroom to measure are worn out and don't really work anymore. Help my students be able to accurately measure mass by having scales that work!

My students live in Moore, Oklahoma.

Although we were lucky that our school was spared during the May 20th tornado, some of our students were still affected by it. My school is a Title 1 school which means at least 50% of the students receive free or reduced price lunches. Money is tight and Science supplies are often not on the top of any list where money can be spent.

My Project

I am requesting scales and stirring rods. We have many science experiments we conduct in class that require accurate measurements and adequate rods to mix chemicals and other supplies while experimenting in the Science class. We currently do not have any stirring rods and have to use plastic spoons which aren't always strong enough. The balance scales we have are old and not very accurate anymore so it is very hard to ensure we have accurate results when conducting our experiments.

By donating to my project, my students will be able to have lab equipment that gives them accurate results.

They will be able to be confident that the information they have is the correct information all while having fun and learning at the same time.
