This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our elementary school has a weekly SCIENCE VOCABULARY CHALLENGE game that is aired on our school's morning show. This is televised and watched by all students every morning. Briefly, a teacher (dressed as a scientist) appears in the science lab and gives students the definition of a science vocabulary word in both English and Spanish. The first class to call the school's library with the science vocabulary word that matches the definition wins a science surprise! This project will provide small gifts for the winning class, such as bookmarks, slap bracelets, erasers, and pencils. The students really look forward to the science vocabulary challenge. It has really helped students increase their science vocabulary, and they are filled with joy when they get their science surprise!
