Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The high school I teach at is in a small town in northern Michigan. The students are average high school students working to learn and grow in order to become productive members of the community. The students come from varied socioeconomic backgrounds and strive to succeed.

The high school has students in 9th through 12th grades and strives to provide a rigorous academic learning environment for all students.

The school has a wonderful fine arts program and great athletic programs to provide enrichment for students. There are opportunities for all students to excel in the areas that they enjoy.

My Project

My project requests some supplies that seem simple but make a world of difference to our biology classroom.

In my biology class, my students use many supplies like glue sticks, markers, and clips are used in various labs, projects, and activities all year long.

There is always a need to restock these simple supplies since they run out due to constant use.

The cart enables us to transport supplies, chemicals, glassware, and microscopes from the biology storeroom to my classroom for labs. I am currently using an old cart with a broken handle and wheels that do not roll correctly.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
