Science Supplies for Successful Labs

Help me give my students the tools they need, like thermometers, motor kits and other goodies to learn about energy and waves through experiments.

My Students

I teach at a school that is growing quickly. Once a small rural community, it is growing quickly with a more diverse population. My school is working hard to adjust to the needs of our changing population to give them the best education.

My students have diverse needs, interests and abilities.

As our community grapples with adjusting to the changes in population, my students are adjusting to community changes as well.

If our students dream enough, they can become what they set their mind to. Having a positive mind set, being a community leader, perseverance, empathy, gratitude, and mindfulness will develop them into the leaders of the future.

My Project

My students needs hands-on opportunities to learn about science in my classroom. There are so many materials that can help students really visualize how energy and waves work. We can make collisions and see waves using the materials I've requested. While trying to give students 21st century skills, I would like to include coding into our energy lessons by using micro:bits to help control the circuits we build.

The Covid shutdown really affected my students science knowledge.

Science principles that should have been taught to the students in previous grades did not get taught as math and reading became the focus subjects. The more hands-on learning I can give the students, the easier it is for me to teach the curriculum I am responsible for. The supplies also give me the ability to help students make observations that can help close the gap from the years of missed learning.
